Teen Experiential Program
Some of the most common Issues we treat include:
Low Self Esteem
Social Skills
Family Conflict
Emotional Regulation
Anger Issues
Entitlement Issues …
Our teen program utilizes therapeutic, adventure based, experiential activities coordinated with other evidence-based interventions to help teens develop concrete understanding of principles which can translate to practical applications in their daily lives. As its name indicates, experiential therapy involves actions and activities rather than the more traditional “talk therapy.” One of the many advantages of experiential therapy is that the activities that form the core of the process provide opportunities for the therapist to observe clients in situations where the clients are not focused on the therapy itself.  Because experiential therapy clients are often focused on the task or activity at hand — rather than on the therapeutic aspect of the experience — they are more likely to behave in a more unguarded and genuine manner. As clients progress through structured activities they have the opportunity to identify obstacles, encounter successes, develop improved self-esteem, and take greater responsibility for their actions.

In conjunction with traditional treatment methods, experiential therapies enhance a client’s treatment process. Change, emotional growth, and personal empowerment are all among the benefits of participating in an effective experiential therapy program.
